Causes We Support

Elk Rapids Marina is dedicated to our Elk Rapids community. We have partnered with organizations that help young men and women develop their futures.

Right Tree

Right Tree is an Elk Rapids-based charity that uses outdoor recreation, adventure programming, and community service to help girls discover their worth, their gifts, their voice, and their future.  “It takes a village to raise a child,” becomes reality when we partner together to speak positively into the lives of teens.  Elk Rapids Marina donates $25.00 for every daily boat rental and encourages our customers to add additional support dollars for this empowering cause when filling out their rental agreement. Great Lakes Boat Building School (GLBBS)

Elk Rapids Marina recognizes the importance of skilled trades. We support the vision of the Great Lakes Boat Building School (GLBBS)  which offers men and women the opportunity to pursue a variety of careers in the marine industry. In 2020, our belief in the school's mission led us to create an annual Marine Mechanic Scholarship for new students along with a flexible internship program for all GLBBS students. If you would like additional information on either of these programs, contact Sue Cotten (sue.cotten@glbbs.edu) or call GLBBS at (906) 484-1081. Click the logo to view our informational PDF.

Torch Lake Protection Alliance

Torch Lake Protection Alliance was established in 1994 to provide a unifying voice for people who regard the preservation of Torch Lake as a top priority, enabling current and future generations to enjoy the responsible use of this geological jewel. We look forward to continuing our great work and invite you to join in helping to keep Torch Lake Blue. Elk Lake Skegemog Lakes Association

Elk Lake Skegemog Lakes Association’s focus is on protecting the environment, monitoring development, tracking water quality, and following trends in boating, fishing, and other uses of our lakes. ESLA has worked closely with other environmental organizations to sustain high water quality, responsible shoreline development, and safe recreational use. As the waters of ESLA become more popular and more crowded with increased boat traffic and shoreline development, a watchful eye must be kept to protect our environment. If you are interested in joining ESLA, contact the ESLA Membership Committee at info@elk-skegemog.org. Click the logo to visit elk-skegemog.org for more information.
